AFC - Automatic Frequency Control Circuit
When particularly good tuning is required
When particularly good tuning is required
Our compact AFC modules (Automatic Frequency Control) are used as key components in frequency control loops of magnetron or klystron powered linear particle accelerators (LINACs). The AFC circuit forms a precise error signal from the forward and reverse RF signal, that is used to fine-tune the center frequency of the microwave tube to the resonant frequency of the LINAC.
The phase shift between both RF input signals is tunable by an analog phase shifter.
In our mAFC the phase shift is implemented by a mechanical phase shifter using a tuning knob. The eAFC incorporates an electronical phase shifter controlled by an external DC voltage.
