They take everything on themselves with ease
Microwave loads, attenuators and absorbers are in demand as terminations in isolators, power dividers or in the test operation of microwave generators. Their job is to effectively absorb the microwave so that no significant power is reflected.
Water loads are often used to absorb high microwave powers. Here, water, sometimes elaborately prepared with additives, is used as an absorbing and cooling medium. While it sounds simple, it also has its pitfalls. Water absorbs in a narrow band. The microwave absorption of water is also highly temperature dependent and can therefore lead to thermal drift over power. The quality of the water is also crucial.
This is where our very special solution comes in, which differs significantly from conventional implementations: our ferrite loads. We use liquid-cooled ceramic ferrite absorbers that absorb microwaves very effectively, across a broad spectrum and with significantly more temperature stability, regardless of the type of liquid cooling medium. By strictly separating the cooling medium and the microwave room, water leaks can be safely avoided. This offers significant advantages for our customers and their applications, especially when, in addition to performance, stability, reliability and longevity are of essential importance.
